Sorry for the separate post but it was a little long to be put into the comments section.
I’m pretty sure we’ve been over this before.
But just to review:
* You don’t like the LWC because it doesn’t provide you with the gaming experiences you require. This is because you consider yourself to be part of the hardcore.
* I, as a midcore, can handle myself fairly well with the hardcore games but do not much have the time or effort to spend on this stuff. I use games to relax so I want something I can put away quickly. I don’t want to get more stressed out playing a game than going into one.
* Also, as a married man whose wife cannot be described as much more than casual, I find it difficult to find games that we both can enjoy, lest I catch the evil eye for investing too much time in a game rather than paying attention to her.
* The LWC wasn’t invented for your demographic. Time to own up and face it. Your purchase was probably based more on the fun you thought you’d have and an impulse buy rather than the fun you had actually testing the product.
* I miss the hardcore games but then I’m not one for FPS’s which means that I will probably never own the 360.
* To be fair, I’m a bit worn down by the rehashing. But I’d be lying if I said I didn’t really really enjoy making it through Super Mario Galaxy or Super Paper Mario or swinging a remote around the living room making LorY look silly in Wii Sports (but she totally hands me my ass at Wii Bowling). And I’d also be lying if I said I wasn’t really loving Brawl right now. I think the addition of the Subspace Emissary makes it just different enough to be worth it. Do I wish they’d release a killer new IP soon? Yes, yes I do. But in all honesty, this is Nintendo. Their software business plan hasn’t changed since the days that the Super Nintendo was released. So seriously, you should have known what you were getting into.
All in all, it’s a matter of perspective. And from this side of the line, I think maybe you need to realize that it’s just not the system for you. Not now anyway.

I should also add that the character speeds in Brawl have been increased enough to make battle much more chaotic than they were in Melee.
