A Season to Do Without

I know I’m late here, but I’d like to compile a list of things people are giving up for Lent or personal reasons.  So add them to the comments, as well as any details you’d like to share.  I know Joseph and Rene have mentioned them in earlier posts, but I’d like a repository, if you will.

As for me, I’ve always been Protestant (the true way, Rene ;)), so I’ve never celebrated Lent.  However, a really close friend does (or used to at any rate).  I always admired this about her, as she chose to give something up out of reverence to God and not because the church told her to do it or refrain from it. I always felt such an act, done freely, was a good representation of what it means to have a personal relationship with God.

Before anyone asks, I haven’t given up anything and don’t intend to.
