Dereliction of Doodie (Updated)

So I’ve been pretty laid back as far as this whole clog experience goes, at least as of late. While my magniloquent styles are surely fun to write, I have stepped farther back from “managerializing” this whole thing due to one part boredom with the whole ordeal and three parts ambivalence. Or does that mean the same thing?

Never you mind, it seems that Joseph is more than willing or able to apply frenetic theme updates at the internet pace of a caffeinated, ADD hamster. I could care less. Seriously, watch me as my caring lessens in proportion to my ambivalence growing:

Whoa…sorry. Think I drooled on the keyboard for a second there.

In other news, why didn’t anyone tell me that Orange Crush is pretty much the greatest R.E.M. song evAr? I am a product of the radio, people! If I didn’t hear it on any of the stations growing up or now, how could I know about it? It’s like being forced to eat your meat before receiving pudding (mmm…p00ding).

The primary race is really starting to piss me off. ‘Nuff said.

I picked up A Game of Thrones again and holy crap why did I stop reading this book? In the last few chapters I have been treated to the sight of a would-be king who sold his sister to the leader of what amounts to a nomadic warrior tribe being killed by having molten gold poured on his face while said sister merely watches, a feeble child made lord over a realm before his time being suckled by his mother and enfeebled even more by her love, and even more awesomeness to lie ahead (Steph made me read the end of the book before she threw her copy out). My only regret is that I had to toss Colbert’s Retort to the side of my bed. It’s been sitting there for two days, unblinking, but heartbroken nonetheless. Those with a taste for fantasy and few to no scruples have most likely already read this like six times. I leave it up to you to see if it sounds like your cup of tea.

That is all, that is all.

Update: Songza link added.

  1. I must ask if this dereliction was brought about by the reemergence on your old blog or vice-versa.

  2. Um…verce-visa?

Adding posts to my old blog hasn’t diminished my want to post here, it’s just led to a sharper focus as to what I post here and there. Here mostly stuff to make people laugh.

    Or cry.

    Or to insult you guys.

  3. I’m pretty sure I bought that CD between 96 and 98. And yes, Orange Crush is the best song on there.

  4. It’s also a great soda.

  5. If you could only have one Orange Crush, which would it be?

  6. I vote soda.

  7. ugh, if only i could find orange crush around here. but seeing as how i’m trying to cut down on my soda intake, it’s probably better this way.

  8. I found Big Read in Iowa!

  9. Dangit, I can’t find that or Red Flash (which is horribly disgusting in comparison but mostly better than nothing) here. My soda life is crap.

  10. I did find chocolate soda which is great if you like fizzy Nesquik. Other than that, it’s pretty much the worst thing ever.

  11. Fizzy Nesquik? Gross. Our store only carries 2 boxes of Big Red at a time. I am responsible for 50% of Big Red sales in Iowa City. I gave up pop for lent and I fear there will be no Big Red come Easter. If I was the other guy who drinks Big Red, I would hate me and my Catholic upbringing.

  12. That stinks. Even though we’re not Catholic, LorY and I figured a little sacrifice would do us some good anyway. So I gave up candy (so hard for me) and she gave up French fries and hating small talk. However, she’s afraid that after the 40 days, people will have grown accustomed to engaging her in small talk and keep doing it. Either way, it’s fun to watch.
